Katharine Lynn Dennis, 75, passed away on September 8, 2026, in Okatie, South Carolina. She

was born on May 29, 1951, to Willard and Shirley McMillan and grew up surrounded by family,

faith, and friends. Kathy graduated from Beaver Falls High School in 1969 and then earned a

B.A. from Geneva College and an M.B.A from Robert Morris College. After graduation, she

worked many years for Geneva College in their Financial Aid, and Development office, and from

there moved to high-level administrative positions in Foundations at James Madison University,

Scottsdale Healthcare, and the University of Kentucky Medical Foundation. She loved to be

active and to be outside. She especially enjoyed cycling with her husband, Doug, and tending

her backyard garden; affectionately known as “Special K’s Garden”. She was acutely aware of

her social responsibilities, and volunteered for several charities. In particular, she enjoyed

working on houses for Habitat for Humanity. Finally, Kathy loved her children and grandchildren

deeply. She is survived by her husband, Douglas Dennis; her children Gregory Householder

(Leslie) and Ryan Householder (Carole), her step-daughter Megan (Josh) and her seven

grandchildren. A celebration of her life is being planned and will be announced shortly.
